Taste La Différence™ introduces Soft Grill™ and Ceramic Plancha™ made in France, at the NY Gift Fair - Booth 3263 - and IHH in Chicago - Booth 1651

Dallas January 13, 2009 - At a time when most manufacturers timidly retreat to the tried and tired, Taste la Différence, the french collection of cooking and tabletop implements, boldly introduces some radical new designs. The three leading French manufacturers Appolia, Marlux and Nogent introduced their common collection at the last NYGF to great acclaim. Their concept of la Différence is in the design, the quality of the products entirely made in France, the breadth and orginality of the wide collection of over 100 items in 3 lines.
The Nature line features "green" materials and natural finishes. The Expert line appeals to serious home chefs with advanced designs and features. The Color line brings fun and cheer to American kitchens with a bright palette of colors such as Cherry, Lime, Plum and Curry.

This season, the Expert line is expanding: Appolia modernizes the traditions of grilling and stewing with radically innovative ceramic accessories in its Terre et Flamme (earth and flame) series.

Soft Grill

The Soft Grill™ is the french refinement of the american barbecue tradition. A concept never seen before.

It allows juicier, more tender and hygienic grilling of meat fish and vegetables by lifting up the brochettes (kebabs) 61mm above the grill
The food cooks more evenly and will not flame, burn, stick to or even touch the grill.
The notches in the top edges will keep 6 long (provided) or 4 short skewers in place. Two handles allow carrying the Soft Grill loaded with food, directly from the barbecue to the table.

The Soft Grill works on any kind of barbecue or even directly on glowing embers. No soaking or preparation required. Non stick surface for easy cleaning by hand or dishwasher.
Dimensions 12.25" x 19" x 2.4" . MSRP $79

Plancha

Appolia's Ceramic Plancha™ is ideal for chargrilling, meat, fish, vegetables, even fruit, the healthy way with lowfat or no fat, gentle cooking. The food retains its juices and tenderness without burning or attaching to the non-stick surface and yet absorbs the smoky barbecue flavor. It goes directly from the grill to the table and keeps the food warm.

The Ceramic Plancha will work on all heat sources (except induction). No soaking or preparation required. Non stick surface for easy cleaning by hand or dishwasher.
Dimensions 13.75" x 19". MSRP $79.

tajine

Appolia's Terre et Flamme line also brings a modern twist to the traditional morrocan tajine and french cocotte. These stovetop to table stewing favorites are updated with features like non stick surfaces and extra large, flat, cover handles. This solves the age old problem of what to do with a hot dripping top while you are stirring the food. The chef can even rest a spoon or ingredients in the stable inverted cover.

cocotte

Also new from Marlux , a chili pepper grinder joins the nutmeg grinder in the Expert collection and a the classic peppermills and salt grinders in the Nature collection are now available in a new Chocolate finish.

Chili grinder

Marlux has been manufacturing salt and pepper mills since 1875. Three generations of family know how, high quality materials, patented designs and product reliability have made Marlux a leader in France and worldwide.
Marlux pepper mills are made of the same high quality tempered steel (S300PB) used in race cars. Salt grinders are made of 18/10 nickel steel alloy. Marlux uses only solid natural hard beechwood from managed sustainable sources.
From traditional shapes to specialty items like a nutmeg grinder, a fine Bordeaux bottle shaped mill or a gift pack including some Fleur de Sel, Marlux mills and grinders are designed to last generations. From the best selling paper leaves for serving cheese and snacks to silicone oyster mitts, Marlux also offers unusual specialty items.

micro serration

Of note, the unique micro-serrated slicing knives of the Expert line. With 4 micro teeth per mm, they never need sharpening and allow very thin, easy slicing of tomatoes and other delicate foods.
